Affording the well

In keeping with its desire to attract and maintain a diverse student body, The Well School offers a need-based financial aid program, though funding is limited. The aid is intended to support families with children in Kindergarten through 8th Grade who otherwise would not be able to meet the cost of attending The Well. (Financial aid is not available for the preschool years.) Financial need is determined by School and Student Services.

The Well School unfortunately does not have the resources to award financial aid to all who qualify. Therefore, the overall strength of a candidate's application is used as a criterion for distributing aid. Financial aid awards are made to those candidates who successfully meet the criteria for admission. In addition, we seek to maintain an average and balanced class size. Lastly, we want to ensure that students who have been at The Well for most of their education can complete the school, even if a family’s economic situation changes. The entire financial aid process is confidential.

Currently, typical awards range from around $750 (Kindergarten) to around $5,000 (Upper School) although each award is based on the family’s unique situation and may be less or more than listed here.

To receive further information about financial aid, please read below and also feel free to contact our Business Manager at 603-924-6908 ext. 31 or accounting@wellschool.org.

The process for filing for financial aid is as follows:

  1. All returning families must complete a request for financial aid by February 29, 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year, by completing the Financial Aid Application.

  2. New families must make their request known with their application to The Well School.

  3. All families must show financial need by filling out the SSS Parents’ Financial Statement. The Well School’s SSS code is 3067.

  4. All requests will be reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee. Priority for aid will be given to returning students in higher grade levels first. No financial aid is awarded to preschool students.

  5. The financial aid amount for each year is determined by the budgeting process.

  6. Letters awarding financial aid will be sent to new families with their admissions decision, so long as financial aid funding is still available for the 2024-2025 school year.
